Ruined in Hampi - Day 3 [3 Days]

Day 3

As I started my final day in Hampi after a heavy breakfast at the hotel, we had several plans for today mainly excited for the coracle ride in the evening.

Statue of Ugra Narsimha:
The statue of Ugra Narasimha is the largest statue in Hampi.
The Narasimha ( form of Lord Vishnu) is sitting on the coil of a giant seven-headed snake called Sesha Nag. The heads of the snake acts as the hood above his head. At one point of time there was a temple, now only the statue is remaining. The original statue contained the idol of goddess Lakshmi, consort of the Vishnu, sitting on his lap which was destroyed during the attack and fall of Vijayanagara empire. The hand of goddess can still be seen on the statue.

Underground Shiva Temple:
The temple is known as underground temple simply because the roof of the temple is with the present ground level and the temple is in a low lying area.
A must visit if you are in Hampi

Badaviling Temple:
This temple is very close to Ugra Narasimha Statue.
This is 3 Meters high and is carved in one Rock in Situ.
The Shiva Linga has a fairly large circular pedestal drawing into the pranala.

Kadalekai Ganesha:
Kadalekai Ganesha temple is known for giant monolithic statue of Hindu god Ganesha which was carved out of a huge boulder at the northeastern slope of the Hemakuta hill. The temple derives it's name due to the similarity of shape of God Ganesha belly with Bengal gram.

Coracle Ride:

The most fantastic part of todays trip was coracle boat ride
View of Tungabhadra River from Sree Kodandarama Temple is just amazing. You can see hills of boulders, nature, go for coracle boat ride or walk around those hill. This is what i liked in Hampi the most!
